About the Junior SchoolSedbergh Junior School adheres to the philosophy of holistic education, with a strong focus on the individual growth of every pupil. Through a high-quality bilingual curriculum and abundant language-rich contexts, we develop pupils' solid bilingual competence. We remain committed to a pupil-centred approach, advocate inquiry-based learning, stimulate curiosity and the desire to explore, and guide pupils to develop self-directed learning habits, thereby ensuring a smooth transition to the Middle School.
The Junior School operates small-class teaching with a staff-to-pupil ratio of approximately 1:5, and adopts a collaborative teaching model involving both Chinese and expatriate teachers. We offer nearly 40 co-curricular activities (ECAs) spanning sports, arts, and other fields. We have also established multiple sports teams that provide professional advanced training for pupils with athletic talents. A variety of festive and celebratory events are held throughout the year to pass on China's fine traditional culture and enrich pupils' campus life.
The Junior School places great emphasis on cross-disciplinary learning and project-based inquiry, enabling pupils to fully explore their interests and aptitudes through hands-on practice, while cultivating integrated abilities such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork, thus promoting their all-round development.
